Identifying the problem

Meddle’s IoT platform was powerful but too complex. It required specialized engineering skills, making it inaccessible to the workers who needed it most. This lack of usability hindered adoption and limited its market potential.

Project's goal

Meddle recognized that for its platform to succeed, usability had to be at the forefront. The mission was clear: streamline the key features, make them intuitive, and design for scalability, allowing Meddle to add future functionalities without compromising the user experience.

Requirements and limitations

  • Rapid execution: a functional design system and responsive key breakpoints needed within a few weeks.

  • Scalability: the architecture had to support future feature expansions.

  • Tech constraints: the platform’s core functionalities couldn’t be altered, requiring a UX/UI solution within existing software structures.

Challenges

  • Balancing simplicity with complexity: how to simplify without stripping away critical functionalities?

  • Time constraints: a compressed timeline required prioritization of impact-driven features.

  • Tool limitations: the software architecture had constraints that limited radical UX changes, requiring creative workarounds.
